So you’re thinking about buying a new guitar. You’ve narrowed it down to two options – the Fender Mustang or the Jaguar. Both guitars are amazing instruments, but which one is right for you? In this blog post, we’ll take a look at the pros and cons of each guitar to help you make your decision. By the end, you’ll be able to confidently choose the best guitar for your needs!

Which one is better? Fender Mustang vs Jaguar

Fender Mustang and Jaguar are both electric guitars with similar scale lengths, 22 frets, and double cutaway bodies. However, I would go for Jaguar anytime because of its warmer and its quality tone that is brighter and thinner. I do not like Fender Mustang because of its few controls and strongly believe Fender Mustang is better.

Fender Mustang Pros

  • The Fender Mustang has a classic, vintage design that looks great in just about any setting. It’s perfect for beginners because it’s so easy to play – you can get started playing right away without having to worry about learning tricky chords or scales. Plus, you can easily manipulate the volume and tone through the controls on the guitar itself to create your own unique sound! Cons
  • The Fender Mustang is an awesome guitar, but it may not be perfect for everyone. It’s a solid-body electric bass with no acoustic properties which means that it doesn’t have a warm, resonant sound. It’s designed mostly for beginners, so it doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles of a professional guitar – you won’t get any built-in effects or pick-ups with this one!
  • The Fender Jaguar has been around since 1962, making it one of the first-ever electric guitars made by Fender. It has a classic, timeless design that you’ll love playing on stage – it’s also incredibly durable and easy to maintain! The Jaguar is perfect for professional musicians who are looking for an instrument that can take a beating night after night without breaking down.
  • The Fender Jaguar has an array of unique features that make it stand out from other guitars. Most notably, it has a 24″ scale length which is larger than the standard Fender Mustang (21″). This means that you’ll get more low-end resonance than with the Mustang, producing a warmer sound. It also comes equipped with dual pick-ups – allowing you to easily switch between rhythm and lead sounds to create a unique style.
  • The Fender Jaguar is an amazing guitar with a ton of great features, but it’s not perfect for everyone. It’s has a much larger scale length than the Fender Mustang (24″ vs 21″), which means that beginners might find it hard to play. It also has an odd pick-up switch placement, so it might take you a bit of time to get used to it!

Jaguar Pros

  • The Fender Jaguar is a great live guitar with an array of unique features like dual pick-ups and a larger scale length for producing lower, warmer sounds. It’s perfect for professional musicians who are looking to experiment with different styles and sounds. Cons
  • Like we mentioned earlier, the Fender Jaguar has a much longer scale length than the Fender Mustang. This makes it a bit harder to play for beginners who are just starting out with guitar. It also has a pick-up switch that is slightly different from most guitars, so you’ll have to get used to where it’s located before you can start flailing away!

Which One Should You Buy?

  • So now that you know the pros and cons of each guitar, which one should you buy? For most beginners (or professional musicians who don’t need advanced features), we recommend going with the Fender Mustang. It’s super easy to play and sounds great – perfect for those who are looking to start playing right away!
  • If you’re a pro musician or someone who’s looking to experiment with different sounds, the Fender Jaguar is perfect for you. It has a longer scale length and dual pick-ups – everything you need to start creating your own unique sound in no time!
